Colorants and decolorants

- Antimony oxides (such as antimony pentasulfide and antimony trioxide) can be used as yellow colorants for glass, giving it a bright color. At the same time, antimony trioxide can also be used as a decolorant to improve the transparency of glass by neutralizing the green hue caused by iron impurities.

Clarifiers

- Antimony trioxide is used in combination with nitrates to release oxygen at high temperatures, effectively eliminating bubbles in the glass melt. For example, sodium antimonate and hydrated sodium antimonate are commonly used clarifiers in the production of cathode ray tube glass shells and optical glass.

Performance enhancement

Color synthesis

Titanium yellow series pigments: Antimony oxide combined with titanium dioxide and chrome green can be mixed to produce tones ranging from beige to orange, replacing the expensive rare earth praseodymium yellow.

Antimony tin gray pigment: Antimony oxide and tin oxide form a stable crystal form, which is used for retro tiles and high-temperature resistant daily porcelain. The blue value increases with the increase of antimony purity.
